Saturday we drove from home to Cassillis to camp at the Bowling club camp
site. Unfortunately there was some sort of gymkhana or camp draft happening
there with dozens of horses and horse floats etc. We traveled a further 5 km to
a big rest area where we had also camped at before. Not so noisy this time. Had
some rain most of the night, but only light for most of the morning. Refuelled
at Dubbo at the same price as Taree for diesel @ 131.9 less 4 cents.
Had lunch at Parks and felt the cold wind. Traveled on to Barmedman, about 38km north west of Temora to camp at
the towns thermal pool complex, only to find the pool empty. Have good phone
signal so decided to stay and go on to Temora tomorrow to have a look at the
aircraft museum. This is a large operation funded by David Lowey, son of sir Frank. They have a number of aircraft there from the second tigermoth in Australia through to the war years etc. All the aircraft are still in flying condition and take part in displays throughout the year. Visit http://www.aviationmuseum.com.au
I have mucked this up a bit, but I am still learning!
Today, Monday when we got out of bed at Barmedman the temperature was just 10 degrees. On arrival at
Temora at 9.30 am, it was still 10 degrees.
Yesterday at Tomingley, not far from Peak Hill we saw a rather new large open cut gold mine. They are sure moving some soil there. After leaving Temora we traveled to Junee, where we visited the licorice and chocolate factory. Only sampled 2 pieces of licorice as we should not have too much sugar. Noticed E10 ULP at Woolworths fuel outlet for $1.199 / ltr. Diesel $1.319.
Tonight we are camped at the WaggaWagga showground so that we can recharge the lap top, 2 tablets, camera and phones. Somhow for reasons unknown to me, the computers went flat and caused some problems last night.
